On September 29, 2022, the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau (OCTB) signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with the Japan body of Airbnb, one of the world's largest travel community platforms.

This strategic partnership aims to increase awareness of the value and convenience that homesharing accommodations bring, such as those offered on Airbnb Japan’s platform, as well as to revitalize the economy by promoting and supporting the newest travel trends. These new travel styles include workcation travel, pet tourism, and more. The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau will promote the innovative tourism content and experiences that Airbnb Japan creates in collaboration with their hosts, while Airbnb Japan will develop and share key insights on the latest travel trends.

At a press conference on the day of the signing, OCTB president Hiroshi Mizohata gave remarks on the goals and expections for the agreement, while Country Manager of Airbnb Japan Yasuyuki Tanabe discussed their role and how they aim to contribute to Osaka tourism.
